Clymer Borough Council welcomed a well-known law enforcement officer to serve citizens as the interim police chief.
Clymer Borough Council on Tuesday agreed to hire Louis Sacco as temporary police chief until 2020. Sacco was the former Homer City Borough police chief. The board accepted the resignation of their former chief Joseph Douglas effective September 20th. Sacco says he is looking forward to serving in Clymer and has already helped revamp the report and filing system.
In other personnel action, a motion was approved to re-appoint Rob Barto as the borough’s Manager-Treasurer and Sonya Schrenkel as assistant secretary/treasurer.
Clymer Borough Council also heard from Billie Murdick who wants to donate property to the borough adjacent to the playground. Council President Louis Tate says they hope this works out by the end of the year between the attorneys for both sides.
In other news, Fire Chief John Gromley announced the Halloween Parade will be held October 27th with lineup at 1:30 PM and the parade will step off at 2:00 PM. A Trunk-or-Treat will begin at 4:00 PM, the same time as Cherry Hill Township.
