Contract talks continued yesterday between the State System of Higher Education and coaches at the state-owned universities. The coaches are represented by APSCUF, the faculty union.
After yesterday’s session at the State System offices, John Gump, the APSCUF coach executive leader, said there was some progress on a number of important subjects, but he added, “There is still quite a bit of work to do.”
Yesterday was the sixth round of talks on a new contract, with the next session scheduled for October 28th. The coaches are working under the terms of a contract that expired June 30th.
Meanwhile, there has been no public announcement on ratification votes on a tentative contract for faculty at the State System schools. The new four-year deal was agreed to on September 19th, but terms of the proposed contract will not be released until it is approved by both sides.
