Many of IUP’s alumni along with residents of Indiana will take part in activities today connected to IUP’s Homecoming.
One of the main activities is the annual Homecoming parade. The parade begins at 10:00 AM and will follow the traditional parade route for Homecoming, which starts at 11th and Philadelphia Streets, turns on to 6th Street, then back up Church Street and onto Oakland Avenue. The parade disbands at the intersection of Oakland and 11th Street. There will be some road closures along the parade route close to the start of the parade.
Starting at 11:00 today, the KCAC will host the Alumni and Friends Crimson Huddle. This is a special pre-game event to allow alumni groups to reconnect with each other and have fun. Tickets are still available at the door for the event and will cost $20 for adults and $10 for kids 7-14 years old. Children under six are admitted free.
This year’s homecoming football game is the annual Coal Bowl matchup between IUP and California University. This year, the pre-game festivities will include a concert by Indiana native Chris Stutz. Tailgating begins at 10:00 this morning and the football game begins at 2:00 PM.
