At last night’s Homer-Center planning meeting, members of the board got an update on the search for the district’s next superintendent.
The district has been searching for a replacement for Dr. Charles Koren, who announced in June that he would retire after serving the district for seven years. Last night, Koren said that they were getting close to finding someone to take the job.
Also during the planning meeting, the board went over a recent incident concerning a toy gun found on the elementary playground. Elementary Principal Michael Stoufa praised the staff and faculty who worked fast to identify the toy gun, and he also said they quickly notified parents about the incident before rumors started to spread.
