The Pirates lost to the Reds, 4-3 in twelve innings on Saturday night and will close the season against Cincinnati this afternoon.
The Pirates honored Steve Blass before the game. Blass is retiring after sixty seasons as a player and broadcaster, all with the Bucs. Joined by his family and his high school baseball coach, Blass enjoyed several tribute videos and spoke briefly as rain began to fall. He will address the team in the clubhouse before today’s season finale.
