West Shamokin football fans saw an increased security presence last night at the game due to a threat investigation held earlier that day at the school.
Notification of the threat investigation came in a message posted Friday afternoon by West Shamokin officials, saying that earlier that day, the district’s administration received information that a student was going to bring a gun to the football game that night. State police were called in to help investigate the threat, and the student was removed from class.
While the district said they felt the threat was not credible, the district increased security for the game last night.
