The Senate Communications and Technology Committee, this week, held the last in a series of four hearings on how the state can improve access to high speed broadband internet. With only a small portion of Pennsylvania meeting the Federal Communications Commission’s minimum speed for broadband, Senate Communications and Technology Committee Chair Kristin Phillips-Hill says it was important to get a sense of the impact of the problem, especially in rural PA. Phillips-Hill hopes what lawmakers learned will help them to develop solutions to close the digital divide. One of those four hearings was held in Indiana County at Blue Spruce Park.
