The Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board meets tonight at Blairsville, with a wide array of board actions on the agenda.
Some of the highlights tonight will include discussion of the guaranteed energy savings project. The district in May chose ABM Building Solutions to lead the project, and is prepared to offer the company a contract, provided ABM can guarantee the savings will cover the project’s annual costs over the fifteen years of the agreement. Other conditions include using funding other than new taxes to come to the best financial arrangement, ABM would be required to co-author all facility upgrades with the school district, and the district reserves the right to add to or reduce the scope of the project based on costs and savings.
Among the many other items on the agenda tonight are a host of personnel decisions; acceptance of the Project Fit American Grant for the Saltsburg Middle/High School, sponsored by the Indiana Regional Medical Center; a first reading and review of district policies on admission of students, attendance, health exams and screenings, food services, and transportation; and an agreement with Seton Hill University for dual credits for Blairsville-Saltsburg students.
