Registration is now underway for a third Indiana County Sustainable Economic Development Summit.
The summit is sponsored by the county Sustainable Economic Development Task Force, which was created by the Indiana County Commissioners back in 2017. Over the last 12 months, the task force has been working on implementing strategies and initiatives for local economic development rooted in the sustainable economic development practices that were a part of their 2018 final report.
The summit will feature several speakers in the areas of sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, sustainable building construction, environmental restoration and stewardship, economic development, and broadband. The guest speakers will highlight opportunities that county citizens have for promoting economic and workforce development and citizen education.
The summit is scheduled for October 4th at the Rustic Lodge in Indiana. If you are interested in attending, you can log on to www.sustainableindianacounty.org or call Molly Sarver, the senior land use planner at 724-465-3870.
