There are some motions hearings scheduled today in Indiana County Court, including one for a man who’s accused of failing to register as a sex offender.
53-year-old Walter Charles Bowser of Smicksburg pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in 2012 and is subject to lifetime registration with state police under Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law. Bowser’s probation was revoked last month and he was ordered to state prison for two to seven years by Judge Thomas Bianco.
Bowser has pleaded guilty this year to possession of a controlled substance in a heroin possession case after a traffic stop of a car he was riding in last January in Allegheny County, and to theft of services in Indiana County in June. His attorney is seeking to dismiss his probation revocation.
There is a pretrial motions hearing before Judge Bianco today for 35-year-old Darryl Lynn Higgins of McIntyre, who is prohibited possession of a firearm, unlicensed carrying of a firearm, plus possession of drug paraphernalia and two summary traffic offenses.
Judge Bianco will also conduct motions hearings today for 22-year-old Zachary Winski of Mechanicsburg, who’s charged with simple assault, harassment, and criminal mischief last March…and for 38-year-old James Holupka of Bolivar, who is charged with two counts of driving under the influence, plus traffic offenses.
