Roads reopened around 10:00 after cleanup efforts wrapped up from a three-vehicle crash on Route 422 southeast of Indiana.
Route 422 was closed for the crash that involved two passenger vehicles and a tri-axle truck. Pine Township, Cherryhill Township, state police and Blacklick valley EMT’s were called to the scene at 6:09 this morning. Cherryhill Township Fire Chief Jody Rainey said the tri-axle turned on its side spilling its load of what is believed to be coal. The County Hazmat team was called out at 6:48 for a report of one of the fuel tanks on the tri-axle rupturing and spilling about 120 gallons of fuel. Nathan Muir with the Pine Township fire association said that four people were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No word yet on how the crash happened.
Other dump trucks came to the scene to assist in the cleanup efforts.
