Penelec representatives said that a failed insulator on a power line lead to nearly 5000 people going without power this morning.
Power initially went out at 6:37 this morning throughout Downtown Indiana and may parts of Indiana Borough and White Township. The power line affected was in the East Pike Area near Twolick Drive. Repairs began nearly immediately, with a majority of the customers having power restored at 7:15 this morning with crews putting them on a different power circuit, and the remaining 1500 or so customers remaining without power until 9:35 this morning.
At its peak, the outage affected 4,727 Penelec customers.
