IUP’s annual remembrance program for the victims of the September 11th, 2001 attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C. and in the skies over Somerset County is scheduled for 8:30 this morning at the September 11th memorial in the Oak Grove.
The university’s Chief Marketing Officer, Chris Noah, and the director of the Public Safety and Police, Kevin Thelen, will be the speakers, along with IUP President Michael Driscoll. Noah was in New York on that morning 18 years ago. IUP Council of Trustees member Laurie Kuzneski will be master of ceremonies.
The program will include a moment of silence at 8:46 AM, the time the first plane hit the World Trade Center in New York. Three IUP alumni were lost in the World Trade Center attack: William Moskal, Donald Jones, and William Sugra.
