Steven Brault’s charmed second half of the baseball season stumbled a bit last night, as the St. Louis Cardinals jumped on him for six runs (five earned) in a 10-1 Cardinals’ laugher.
Marcell Ozuna had the big blow the St. Louis, a three-run homer off Brault in the third inning. Adam Wainwright pitched seven innings of one-run baseball for the Cardinals.
Starling Marte had two hits, including an RBI single for the Bucs, who will send James Marvel to the mound today in the series finale. It will be the major league debut for Marvel, who started this season playing for the Altoona Curve.
