State Police yesterday were summoned to investigate an alleged threat made by a student at East Pike Elementary School in White Township, but found that the student who was accused of making the threat did not have the means to carry it out.
Police were notified at about 4:34 PM that a classmate had heard a 7-year-old boy make the threat in a classroom. The student went home and reported the threat, and the parents notified both the Indiana Area School District and the police. State troopers interviewed the boy who made the threat and after interviewing his parents, determined that the boy did not have access to weapons.
The Indiana County District Attorney’s Office and Armstrong-Indiana Crisis Services assisted with the investigation. The school district has not issued a statement on yesterday’s incident.
State Police thanked the student and parents who reported the threat, and the school district for its cooperation.
