Across the state, state troopers were busy during the four-day Labor Day driving period.
State-wide, Troopers investigated 684 crashes over Labor Day weekend, which is 38 fewer crashes than were reported last year. State police say seven of those crashes were fatal, one more than what was reported last year. State police also report that 204 people were injured and seven were killed. 45 crashes across the state were alcohol related, and one of the fatal crashes was alcohol related.
Much like the statistics for the Indiana Barracks, a majority of the citations written up by troopers across the state were speeding tickets. Troopers wrote out 11,742 speeding tickets, 138 child safety seat citations, and 849 seat belt citations.
