We recently made a mistake in our reporting of some information that was discussed at the recent meeting of the White Township supervisors.
We had mistakenly reported that recycling fees for those who get their recycling picked up would increase. Milt Lady, township manager, said that is not the case. The information was only a discussion point, and never voted on by the township supervisors. Lady had mentioned that the township’s second quarter invoice from the Indiana County Solid Waste Authority showed an increase from the typical $1.80 a month household cost to $2.14. Lady added that this was due to the amount being paid the ICSWA for those materials is significantly less because of China not accepting the materials like they used to.
Lady said that the township will keep a further eye on the costs, but they do have reserves to handle a short-term price increase.
