Last night at the Indiana County Fair, The Evergreen After-School Club wrapped up their annual “Kiss-A-Pig” fundraising campaign.
This year, the fund raised its highest total amount by raising a total of $20,000. The money was raised by people donating to the club in the name of one of the “Kiss-A-Pig” nominees, with the top money raiser promising to kiss a pig at the county fair as the prize for coming in first.
This year, the top fundraiser was Evergreen After School Club board member Joyce Sharman, who raised $5,318. And while the original spokespig Olivia the Pig was unable to take part due to quarantine issues, Sharman did not go back on her word, and instead kissed “Black Magic”, owned by Drew Rhea of the Penns Manor chapter of the Future Farmers of America club.

Others raising money for the competition included State House Member Jim Struzzi, Denise Chresos of the Flower gallery, Dr. Matthew Klain, Homer-Center Principal Jody Rainey, Anthony Frazier of The Acoustic Hour, and Angel Ashbaugh.
