Colin Moran hit a pinch-hit grand slam in the 6th inning and Josh Bell hit a three-run shot in the 7th to break open the game and lead the Pirates to a 14-0 win over the Reds last night. Trevor Williams pitched six shutout innings for the Bucs.
Nine Pirates batters had one hit apiece and Bryan Reynolds had two, including an RBI double in the third inning to open the scoring. While Reynolds only got credit for one run driven in on the hit to right field, the Bucs scored two on the play, thanks to an error by Reds’ first baseman Derek Dietrich on the relay throw.
Bell’s home run gave him 102 RBI for the season, the first time he’s passed the century mark in a single season.
Dario Agrazal pitches for the Pirates today as they try for the sweep of the three-game series at PNC Park.
