Five people are being investigated by state police in connection with a beating that was captured on social media earlier this week near Homer City.
State police say the assault was reported to state police on Friday in the vicinity of Floodway Park and the Hoodlebug Trail. In the video that has made the rounds on social media, two men are seen hitting and verbally abusing a 25-year-old Homer City man, who was identified as Cody Overdorff. Overdorff has Williams Syndrome, which is a developmental disorder.
State police say that an 18-year-old man from Sagamore; a 19-year-old woman from Homer City borough; a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, both from White Township; and a 55-year-old Homer City woman are suspected of being a part of the fight, and the 18-year-old Sagamore man and the 55-year-old Homer City woman also sustained minor injury in a separate altercation connected with this incident.
State Police have not released any names connected with the incident, and charges are pending further investigation.
