It is officially “Welcome Weekend” at IUP, with the bulk of the university’s student body moving in for the fall semester starting today.
This morning, students will move into Susan S. Delaney Hall, MG Rodney D. Ruddock Hall, and Whitmyre Hall. This afternoon, they’ll be moving into Donna D. Putt Hall and the Suites on Maple East.
Move-in will continue tomorrow at the Northern Suites, Wallwork, and Maple East, and the rest of the student body arrives over the weekend.
Traffic around campus will be heavier than usual as parents help their kids move in, so pleas be patient. There are parking restrictions in place to ease the congestion around the residence halls, and local traffic will be directed to avoid the campus where possible. In addition the Eleventh Street and Stadium South parking lots will be closed periodically, and certain other lots will be closed as needed.
