By a 5-0 vote, the PIAA yesterday upheld a District 6 ruling that Kyle Silk is ineligible to play football at Ligonier Valley. The senior All-State transfer from United moved to the district this summer. The decision applies only to football. He may play other sports and he may practice with the football team but not play in games.
Silk rushed for 1,505 yards and 30 touchdowns for United last year. He threw for 428 yards and another score, kicked, punted, and played linebacker on defense.
District 6 ruled him ineligible on a 9-8 committee vote on August 7th and Ligonier Valley appealed.
Ligonier Valley opens the season on Friday hosting Homer Center. You’ll hear that game on WCCS, AM 1160 and FM 101.1.
