Altoona Curve manager Michael Ryan tied Dale Sveum and Tim Leiper for the most wins in club history yesterday, and his 213th win at Altoona featured a dominant effort by pitcher Pedro Vasquez, who threw eight scoreless innings against Bowie in a 3-0 win.
Vasquez (7-3) lowered his ERA to 2.69, giving up just three hits and a walk while striking out four. Logan Hill had three hits, including a double and a home run, to lead the offense, and Jared Oliva had a double and triple for Altoona.
The Curve and Baysox finish their season series tonight in Altoona, with the Indiana native Ryan going for the all-time franchise record for wins by a manager. Sean Brady (3-12, 4.79) gets the start for the Curve.
