As we get closer and closer to the beginning of the school year, two school boards will meet tonight to continue their prep work.
At tonight’s Indiana School Board meeting, the board will hear from Chamber of Commerce President Mark Hilliard as he will make a presentation about the new chamber program “Indiana Ready”. The program is designed to give the students that volunteer for the program the chance to learn “soft skills” that are needed in the workforce.
The board will also take up the issues of a pilot program approve three new math courses, and the construction of a gaga ball court at Horace Mann. The board will also approve substitute lists, and approve the creation of the Dean of Students position, which will have the responsibilities of the former Assistant Superintendent’s post.
Tonight will be a work session for the Marion Center School Board and they will discuss the substitute lists, and the utilization of an Americorps volunteer for the district.
