Later this week, a hearing will be held for a request for the delay in the omnibus pretrial motion hearing in the case of a man charged in connection with the beating deaths of a couple in Cherryhill Township in October of 2016.
Court documents show that on Wednesday will be the hearing for that pre-trial motion for relief for 21-year-old Nathanial Price. He is charged with two counts of criminal homicide, conspiracy to robbery and robbery-inflicting serious bodily injury. Price is accused of being with Justin Stevenson and Isaiah Scott when the three went to rob Timothy Gardner and Jacqueline Brink at their apartment outside of Clymer. Prosecutors contend that during a marijuana buy, the two jumped Gardner and beat him with a metal pipe, then the two went upstairs and killed Brink because she was a witness. Both Price and Stevenson have accused each other of killing Brink. Scott was originally charged as an adult, but had his case transferred to juvenile court.
It’s still not known if the pre-trial motion will delay the scheduled start of the trial, which is November 18th, when jury selection is set to start. District Attorney Pat Doughery has said that he will seek the death penalty in this case. Stevenson pleaded guilty last year to two counts of second-degree murder, and he is serving concurrent life prison sentenced without the possibility of parole. The case will be heard before Judge Thomas Bianco.
