Today, Blairsville will hold their 8th annual Knotweed festival.
The festival, named for the invasive plant that is seen in the Blairsville area, will start today at 8:30 with a 5K Run-Walk that will begin at Hebron Lutheran Church. A parade will start at East Market Street at 10:30. There will also be musical performances throughout the day at both the bandstand and the amphitheater, and several activities will also be held in the downtown area. New this year for the Knotweed Festival will be a children’s play land, with activities for kids including hay rides, face painting, a children’s tractor pull and others.
The festival will end tonight with a fireworks display at dark.
