The Penns Manor School Board last night awarded Superintendent Darren Johnston a new five-year contract last night. The new contract was approved by a 7-1 vote, with one board member, John Hardesty, Sr. absent. .
Johnston, who started with Penns Manor as a high school principal in 2004, will begin his second term in January 2020 and will serve until December 31, 2024. He says that during this time he will continue to focus on using the district’s budget to provide opportunity for every student.
The school board approved Johnston’s second term with an annual average salary increase of 2.28%.
