The developer isn’t commenting publicly, but an ad posted on the Facebook page of the Indiana County Center for Economic Operations says to “Join! Panera Bread”, offering retail pads at the 5.7 acre plot of ground across Oakland Avenue from Aldi’s in White Township.
Originally slated for construction at the former home of Elkin Hi-Tech in late 2017, development seemingly stopped, although permits were approved by both the township and by PennDOT.
The initial plans called for a Bob Evans restaurant, an Applebee’s, and a Holiday Inn Express. Panera Bread replaced the Bob Evans nameplate in July of 2017, but while limited development has been done at the site, there has been no construction.
Colliers International is the site developer.
