Indiana County’s road construction season continues, with the announcement Friday that Oakland Avenue will be closed for milling, patching, and paving between Philadelphia Street and 11th Street from 7 PM Thursday until 7 AM on Monday, August 12th. It’s a major traffic disruption for motorists along the busy corridor. The detour uses Philadelphia Street to South 7th Street, to Wayne Avenue and Rose Street.
Meanwhile, the construction signs have come down on Route 119 North in Rayne Township, signaling the end of construction both on the Grove Chapel Hill Climbing Lane Project and on the bridge replacement project just beyond the Route 119 curve in Home.
This week’s Indiana County roadwork schedule includes patching work on Route 22 in Burrell and West Wheatfield townships; Route 259 in West Wheatfield Township; Route 286 in Blacklick, Young, and Conemaugh townships; Route 403 in East Wheatfield Township; Brady Road and Georgeville Road in South Mahoning Township; Ambrose Road in Washington Township; Barnard Road and Route 4026 in West Mahoning Township; and Route 4422 in White Township.
