Tonight, two Indiana County School Boards will meet and continue to prepare for the upcoming school year.
Tonight, the Homer-Center School Board will hold a special voting meeting. Among the items up for approval include the hiring of several teachers, the approval of supplemental contracts, and the hiring of a new business manager. The district’s previous business manager, Greg Cessna retired after the 2019-2020 budget was approved, and that budget had no tax increases.
Also tonight, the Penns Manor School Board will hold their committee meeting, and up for discussion tonight is the agreement for Superintendent Darren Johnston to give him a four-year contract extension from 2020 to 2024. The board will also receive updates from their energy savings project and work on the district track. The board will also take a look at bus routes for the 2019 school year. Final approval on these items is expected to come during the school board meeting on August 8th.
