We already know the coaches at the State System of Higher Education universities will be starting the fall sports season working under the terms of their old contract. With the start of classes now 25 days away, work on a new contract for faculty members will resume a week from today.
Both of the APSCUF union contracts with the State System expired on June 30th, but state law requires that the terms of the old deals remain in effect until a new contract is ratified.
Coaches last negotiated on July 1st and originally intended to resume talks this coming Monday and Tuesday. But after the last session, the union and State System issued a mutual statement that the next bargaining will take place in late September. That will be about a month after the start of classes and the fall sports seasons.
