Indiana Borough Police arrested an Indiana man last weekend as he was counting bags of suspected heroin in a vehicle in a parking lot in the 700 block of Gompers Avenue.
Borough Police Detective John Scherf began investigating the suspicious vehicle at about 12:50 AM Saturday. As he walked up to the vehicle, he saw 36-year-old Nathan Cole Abrams, the lone occupant, counting the drugs. Abrams was taken into custody and a search of the vehicle yielded 298 stamp bags of suspected heroin, an undisclosed amount of suspected crystal methamphetamine, and a small quantity of prescription medicine.
Abrams was charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Indiana County Jail to await arraignment. His criminal docket does not yet appear in the online database.
