One person was injured in an accident at the Homer City Generating Station on Monday.
According to David Knox, media representative for the plant’s parent company NRG energy, the victim injured their hand in an incident involving a crane at the Generating Station on Monday morning. Coral-Graceton Fire Department was called out to provide a landing zone for a medical helicopter at 11:23 AM on Monday, as people on the scene deemed his injuries were severe enough to warrant immediate transportation to a medical facility.
Knox said that they are in the middle of investigating the accident, and will stay with the investigation for as long as it takes.

This marks the second time this year that an accident at the Power Plant has resulted in someone going to the hospital with serious injuries. The other accident was in April when a 13,000-pound piece of machinery fell at the plant and onto a plant worker’s arm.
