As we start the work week, gas prices in our area remain close to $3.00 a gallon.
According to Triple-A East Central, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Indiana County is $2.97. That remains eight cents above the statewide average of $2.89 a gallon.
Among the neighboring counties, the cheapest gas price is Clearfield County, with $2.93 a gallon. Westmoreland County has an average gas price of $2.94 a gallon. Cambria is with Indiana County at the $2.97 a gallon mark, with Armstrong and Jefferson counties both at $2.98 a gallon.
Right now, Mercer County has the highest average across the state at $2.99 a gallon, with Blair County checking in with the lowest gas price average at $2.71 a gallon.
