Michael Ryan, Indiana native and current manager of the Altoona Curve, was inducted into the Pennsylvania American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame on Friday in DuBois.
Ryan played four years of American Legion baseball in Indiana, including three seasons of Indiana Junior Legion baseball with Davis Brothers from 1991 to 1993 and one season with the Indiana Titans of the Senior Legion ranks in 1994. Ryan played professionally for 15 years and began a successful career in the coaching ranks in 2012.
Ryan was unable to attend the induction because of his duties with the Curve, so a pre-recorded speech by Ryan was played and Jack Benedict accepted on his behalf.
