A White Township woman has been charged with endangering her one-year-old grandson after the toddler ingested THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.
38-year-old Leann Louise Goss was arrested yesterday after state police responded to her home on Lincoln Avenue just after noon. Prior to the arrival of the police, the boy had been taken by ambulance to the Indiana Regional Medical Center because he was showing signs that he was under the influence of the THC.
The little boy was being cared for by Goss, who told police she left him out of sight for an as yet undetermined amount of time. The boy evidently got a vaping device from a bedroom nightstand and Goss found him standing there with vape “smoke” around him and the device at his feet. She then called 911. Later in the afternoon, police executed a search warrant and found the EVOD vape pen and related items. They are continuing to investigate how the boy activated the device.
Goss is charged with felony endangering the welfare of children, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arraigned before District Judge Guy Haberl and ordered held at the Indiana County Jail, with bond set at $25,000. A preliminary hearing is set for August 7th.
