The former dean of IUP’s college of Health and Human Services, along with his wife, have made a contribution to the university’s Academy of Culinary Arts.
According to a news release, Dr. Hal and Betty Wingard of Indiana donated $25,000 to support the new Academy of Culinary Arts Building. Administrators are at work trying to select a design architect for the new academy after the Foundation for IUP gifted three buildings in the Punxsutawney. Dr. Wingard serves on the IUP-Punxsutawney Regional Advancement Council and is a member of the College of Health and Human Services advancement council. Wingard was also part of the original group of administrators who conceptualized the creation of the culinary academy, which opened in Punxsutawney in 1990.
