White Township Supervisors met last night and approved the contractor for their Green Light-Go Traffic Signal Project.
The project is a municipal signal partnership program through PennDOT where they provide funds for the operation and upkeep of traffic signals along designated corridors on state highways. Last night, the contractor was approved, but it was not the lowest bidder. In fact, according to Township Manager Milt Lady, the lowest bidder rescinded their bid.

The company who now will perform the work along Ben Franklin Road will be Power Contracting at a cost of $154,005, which is still within budget for the project.
In other business, the board approved purchasing a parcel of land in the Fulton Run area that is currently on repository sale. The property, which is along Fulton Lane, currently has a dangerous structure on it. The borough would remove the structure and put in a new sewage line under the ground. The township placed a minimum bid of $1000 for the property.
