Firefighters in Marion Center were able to put out a quick moving fire that was reported just across the street from their fire hall yesterday.
Indiana County 911 reported the fire call went out at 5:00 PM for a call on Manor Street. The fire was directly across the street from the fire hall. Within three minutes, Marion Center Fire Fighters were on the scene. According to Fire Department Officials, neighbors had heard an explosion and shortly after that, one of the garages caught fire. The fire spread to a second garage but it was quickly extinguished.
No word yet on what caused the fire, but it is being investigated by state police fire marshals. Marion Center firefighters were assisted by Plumville and Clymer Fire Departments along with the RIG team.
