INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
An Indiana woman is charged in connection with a crash that happened on July 14th. Police say that they responded to a crash at the intersection of South 6th Street and Maple Street. As a vehicle was traveling north on south sixth street, another vehicle driven by Alaa Doaib failed to yield as she entered the intersection from the 500 block of Maple Street, going west, causing the collision. Two traffic citations were filed against Doaib through Judge Guy Haberl’s office, charging her with failure to obey stop or yield signs along with financial responsibility.
Indiana borough police have charged an Indiana woman with drug-related offenses after a traffic stop on Philadelphia Street. Police say that at 2:22 AM on July 22nd, police stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense, and police found that 22-year-old Alexia B. Bocook, a passenger in the vehicle, was in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was charged with possession of paraphernalia and released.
Indiana Borough Police have charged a man with violating the borough’s noise ordinance. Police say that they were called out on July 19th around 4:39 PM to a home in the 300 block of North 8th street for a reported domestic incident. During their investigation, police found that 28-year-old Thomas Calvert violated the borough’s noise ordinance for yelling during an argument. A summary citation was filed through district judge Guy Haberl’s office.

One person was injured in a crash in Young Township on July 18th. State police say that the driver, who was not named by police because he is 17-years-old, was driving uphill in his Volkswagen Jetta on Blackleggs Road, and as he approached a left curve in the road, he went off the road onto the shoulder. The car eventually hit a tree and rolled down a 30 foot embankment. The driver was taken to IRMC by Citizen’s ambulance for treatment of suspected minor injuries. He was cited for speeding.

State Police have charged an Ernest man with firearm possession violation and drug possession. State troopers say that they pulled over 29-year-old Michael Carrozza of Ernest on July 12th and they found not only drug paraphernalia, but a loaded handgun as well. Carrozza previously pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and is not allowed to carry a gun.

A Rossiter woman has been charged with drug-related crimes connected with a traffic stop in Green Township on July 10th. Police pulled over the vehicle on Route 58 for a traffic violation, but drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the purse of Wright, who was a passenger. She was taken into custody.

State police are continuing to investigate a theft that happened over sometime between Sunday night and early Monday morning. Police say someone was able to get into the home of a 42-year-old man on Cripps Street in Black Lick Township and took about $400 in bills and a lot of loose change.
