Indiana Borough Council last night discussed the borough parking lot on 8th Street and an upcoming event that will be a first for Indiana Borough.
Concerning the 8th Street lot, borough manager C. Michael Foote said that the crews are 90 to 95% complete with the project, and with the re-alignment of parking spaces, the borough actually picked up six spots. He also said that two of those spots will be set aside for a special purpose.
That grant reimbursement is for up to $10,000.
Also, borough council approved a new event for August 6th as Indiana Borough will join communities across the nation for “National Night Out”, which promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event is set for 5-8 PM at IRMC Park, which will be blocked off for the event.
Finally, borough council approved the addition of Jim McQuown to take the seat vacated by Katherine Hood until the end of the year.
