State police are investigating a theft that happened in Young Township earlier this month.
Troopers say that they filed theft charges against 27-year-old Matthew Mason Boxler of Saltsburg, who is now facing charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and providing false identification to law enforcement. Police say that Boxler stole an ovation guitar belonging to Allen Lambrecht of New Alexandria on July 2nd around 6:18 PM while the two were staying at a residence on Rearick Road. He then took the guitar to a pawn shop in Indiana and sold it. When state police came to investigate, Boxler allegedly gave police a false name and date of birth when he was questioned.
Charges were filed in district court, but there’s no word of when a preliminary hearing will be held.
