The Altoona Curve had a franchise-record 18 strikeouts, yet they were able to come out on top in a pitchers duel against the Erie Seawolves 1-0.
Brandon Waddell, Blake Cederlind and Matt Eckelman combined for Altoona’s 9th shutout victory of the season, limiting Erie to five hits on the day. Waddell picked up his second straight win, while Eckelman made his 17th save.
The two teams play again tonight in Erie.
