A man from Indiana charged with engaging in sex acts with a 13-year-old Clymer boy and with multiple counts of child pornography waived his preliminary hearing yesterday and will head to trial.
Online court documents showed that Stephen Czerniec, Jr. of Indiana decided to waive his hearing yesterday in District Court in Blairsville, and his case will now go to the Court of Common Pleas. State police say that Czerniec met his victim over a dating app in 2016 and sent him several child pornography images through another app. On June 16th, Czerniec picked up the boy at his home in Clymer and took him to another place for a sexual rendezvous. After the incident the victim talked with police.
Czerniec was arrested three days later. After his hearing yesterday, he was returned to Indiana County Jail, where he has been since his initial arrest. He will remain there in lieu of $25,000 bail. No word yet on when the trial will be held.
