A Homer-Center teacher was the recipient of a grant from a fast-food company to help bring 3-D printing to the high school.
Sonic Drive-In restaurants has awarded a $333 grant along with other contributors to their Limeades for Learning initiative to help fund a new 3-D Printing program at the school for Brad Adams. The Sonic grants are for teachers that are sometimes forced to buy their own equipment or materials to help make teaching and learning easier. The money raised by the fully-funded campaign will give Adams two 3-D Printers and enough materials to learn how the systems work and on how to make prosthetic hands as part of another charity website, www.enablingthefuture.org.
As of this morning, the project was fully funded, so the program will start soon.
