The Indiana County District Attorney’s office has announced two people were found guilty earlier this week in trials in Indiana County Court.
The first guilty verdict that was rendered was for 39-year-old Jamie Lee Barnart of Murraysville. Her verdict came down on Monday. State police had filed charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property for a robbery that happened at a Walmart store on December 28th.
The other trial wrapped up the day after as a jury found Jonathan Nieves guilty of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. He was arrested on December 29th after investigation by state police showed he engaged in an altercation and hit a state corrections officer several times in the face with his fist. Nieves is serving time for several crimes committed over the last three years in four Eastern Pennsylvania counties.
Both Nieves and Barnart will be sentenced on September 13th.
