A Blairsville man is now facing charges of theft from a motor vehicle for stealing items from four cars and trying to burglarize a fifth vehicle in the same area of Westmoreland County.
Reports say 37-year-old Christopher W. Reynolds of Blairsville was charged with five counts each of theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, loitering or prowling at night, along with charges of simple assault, harassment, robbery inflicting bodily injury and traffic crimes. Police say Reynolds robbed four vehicles in Unity Township along the same road before he came across a car belonging to David Matsko. Matsko was woken by his daughter, and he went out to confront Reynolds. The two got into a fight and Reynolds sprayed pepper spray into Matsko’s eyes and face. Matsko’s wife was able to call 9-1-1.
Police found Matsko in the driveway in severe pain and having difficulty breathing. Reynolds was taken into custody after police found several cell phones, wallets, credit cards, gift cards and cash. Reynolds is now in Westmoreland County Jail as he was unable to post $5000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for June 24th.
