The Pirates lost to the Miami Marlins last night, 4-3. They’ll conclude their 10-game road trip in Miami today with Chris Archer pitching for the Bucs.
Pittsburgh had taken a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth, with rookie Dario Agrazal pitching well in his Major League debut, but a crucial throwing error by Adam Frazier on a double-play ball kept the Marlins alive and they tied the game, adding the winning run in the next inning on Starlin Castro’s groundout off Geoff Hartlieb with runners on second and third.
Here’s Joe Block with a recap.
Chris Archer caps off what has been a dismal road trip for the Pirates today. The Bucs have lost eight of nine on the three-city trip.
Pirates right-hander Trevor Williams will return from the injured list to start against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday. He hasn’t pitched since suffering a side strain May 17th in San Diego.
