INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana Borough police are investigating a case of agricultural vandalism in the downtown area. Police say that sometime between 5 PM June 13th and 8 AM on the 14th, someone ripped a borough-planted tree out of the sidewalk in the 1000 block of Philadelphia Street. Police say the tree was damaged and could not be re-planted. If you have any information, call police at 724-349-2121.

State police from Punxsutawney are warning of a phone scheme that was going through North Mahonign Township. Police say on June 14th, a 30-year-old man from the Punxsy area reported to police that they were scammed into purchasing about $1100 in Walmart gift cards for an unidentified person claiming to work for the “Speedy Cash” company using the alias “Tony Appleton”.
Troopers advise that that if you get any calls from unknown telephone numbers asking for Walmart or any other form of gift cards, you should immediately hang up the phone.
