The Homer-Center School board met for a special voting meeting last night to approve a bid for some construction at the High School.
The bid was for CNC Construction to build the stair addition at the high school at a cost of $270,000. Board member Gerald Bertig said during the meeting that he was disappointed that the costs for the project were not closer to estimates given by the district’s architect, and that they only got one bid for the project.

The Board approved the bid by a vote of 7-2 with Logan Dellafiora and Justin Smyers both voting against the project.
The board also approved the hiring of a long-term kindergarten substitute that would work for the entire school year. This will go into effect if kindergarten enrollment goes above 60 students for the 2019-2020 school year.
